OKLAHOMA CITY – When Kevin Durant was sidelined with an injury to his foot, many Oklahoma City Thunder fans feared the worst.
Last season, Durant underwent two surgeries to have screws placed in his foot.
Durant eventually underwent a third surgery in March after doctors noticed “signs of regression.”
“They stuffed some bone-graft thing in, and they pasted over the top of the area. That healed up in a couple of weeks,” Durant said. “But then they stuck something else in there just to smooth it out and make sure it was thick. They did a lot.”
The report says that doctors were surprised that Durant’s foot fractured again after healing, so they felt a different tactic was needed.
Now, Durant is back on the court with Team USA, but is trying to scale back his intensity.
