GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Oklahoma City Barons hockey team is desperately in need of goals. The Barons visit the Grand Rapids Griffins in game #6 of the American Hockey League Western Conference finals at 6-o’clock Oklahoma time tonight, trailing in the best-of-7 series 3-2. So it’s simple – lose and go home for the summer. Win and force a 7th and deciding game, to be played Wednesday night, also in Michigan.

The Barons had taken a 2-1 series lead until their goal-scoring dried up in the next two tussles. Grand Rapids won both games on the Barons home-ice inside the Cox Center, 4-0 in game #4 and 3-0 in game #5…to put the Barons on the brink of elimination. However OKC also faced elimination in the best-of-5 opening round series against Charlotte, trailing 2-1, before winning the next two games to advance.
