Here’s how you can help hurricane victims

OKLAHOMA CITY– If you want to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey, here are several ways to get the necessary supplies to those in need.

The Red Cross needs financial donations to get immediate relief to residents.

The organization is opening shelters, sending supplies and putting volunteers in place around Florida. You can donate online or text “IRMA” to 90999 to chip in $10. I

They have already set up a way to donate to victims In Texas after Harvey caused massive damage.  Text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation. You can also visit redcross.org or call 1- 800-RED CROSS.

Americares

The nonprofit is accepting donations for Irma victims on its website.

Apple

The tech giant is making it easy for customers to donate to hurricane relief efforts directly through iTunes and the App Store.

Save the Children

The organization is preparing to respond to the needs of vulnerable children and families affected by the storms. You can donate to its relief fund here.

Volunteer Florida

The agency is looking for volunteers to work in the state’s shelters and other disaster relief organizations. You can register and find out more here. Gov. Rick Scott also noted that people can text “DISASTER” to 20222.

National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster

This association of organizations is active in Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and is looking for volunteers in those regions. You can register here.

United Way Houston’s Flood Relief fund has also set up a text to donate campaign. You can text UWFLOOD to 41444 to donate to the United Way Flood Relief Fund.

Donations supporting The Salvation Army‘s Hurricane Harvey relief efforts can be made at helpsalvationarmy.org or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute is calling on you to donate to help those in the flooded areas. Here’s where you can learn more and donation locations.

The Houston Mayors office has set up The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund  

Monetary donations are also being accepted through the Houston Food Bank and the Food Bank of Corpus Christi 

Animals are also in trouble in the midst of this disaster, donations are also accepted through the Houston Humane Society or the San Antonio Humane Society.
