Peppermint Bark is a super-easy, holiday favorite! Great as a gift, or just to have around the house. It looks spectacular, too!

Peppermint Bark
1 1.5lb package Almond Bark
Few drops Peppermint Extract
1 box Candy Canes
(Optional: colored sugar, sprinkles, nuts, jimmys)

Unwrap candy canes and place in gallon zip-bag. Using hammer or smooth side of meat mallet, crush candy canes into bits.

Line a cookie or baking sheet with wax paper. Break Almond Bark into pieces. In a microwaveable bowl (should be glass or porcelain) place Almond Bark and microwave on full power for 90 seconds. Stir thoroughly; return to microwave and cook for another 30 seconds. Stir again. Bark should be melted and smooth. If not, keep microwaving in 20 second intervals until totally smooth. Using spatula, pour and spread bark on wax paper. While still hot, top with peppermint bits. For added color, also add colored sugar, sprinkles, nuts, or whatever your heart desires. Allow to cool. Break into pieces and enjoy!
