Woman arrested after 5-hour long standoff in S.W. Oklahoma City

Standoff in the 500 block of S.W. 25th St.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A woman is behind bars after a 5-hour long standoff came to an end in southwest Oklahoma City.

Police were called to the 500 block of S.W. 25th St. around 5:45 p.m. Thursday on reports of a shooting.

Oklahoma City police say Phina Franklin shot a man and then locked herself inside her home with two other people.

A tactical team was called to the scene to assist.

Around 10:50 p.m., Franklin surrendered to the police after gas was deployed into the house.

The man Franklin allegedly shot remains in the hospital in stable condition.

Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.

Franklin was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
