TULSA, Okla. – Police in Tulsa say they are looking for three people who are accused of stealing from a local police officer’s widow on the night of his funeral.

Officer Trey Pritchard, with the Sapulpa Police Department, was shot and killed while off-duty in Midwest City.

During his life, Pritchard and his wife often visited Jumpin J’s Bar in Tulsa.

“They loved to come down here, drink, have fun,” said Nickole Longbrook, a bartender at Jumpin J’s.

After Pritchard’s funeral, his friends and family couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate his life.

“Just remembering what a good person Trey was and giving Cari the support she needed to continue on,” Longbrook told KOKI.

However, the group had no idea Cari would be targeted by thieves while mourning the loss of her husband.

“As far as we know, this was random,” said J.B. Bennett, with the Sapulpa Police Department.

Bennett says that while Prichard’s widow was inside the bar, thieves were breaking into her car and stealing her purse.

Inside her purse were checks written to her by the Fraternal Order of Police and the City of Sapulpa.

Friends say the thieves stole a lot more than money from the widow.

“For her, it’s the watch,” Bennett said.

Inside her purse, Cari hid Trey’s watch.

While it isn’t worth a lot of money, it holds more value to Cari than anyone else.

“Cause that’s an item she strongly connects with him,” he said.

Bennett says Pritchard always wore the Timex watch and was wearing it when he was murdered.

Now, police are trying to track down Charles Grant, Jr. , Jason Wofford and Natalee Sweet.

Detectives believe they may know something about the crime.
