OKLAHOMA CITY – Almost one week later, it still is hard to accept that KFOR Sports Director Bob Barry, Jr. is gone.
The KFOR family is still hurting from the loss, but we know we are not the only ones who lost a friend.
We have been overwhelmed by the touching tributes and stories viewers have shared over the past several days.
As we prepare to say goodbye to Bobby and celebrate his life and legacy, we wanted to hear from you.
“Bob Barry, Jr. was just as enthusiastic and knowledgeable as his dad. Those two were hard to beat. I go all the way back to WKY,” Don, from Lexington, said.
“I loved his dad, I loved him. I cannot believe he’s passed. He treated everybody equally and he made me laugh. He’s the first sportscaster that made me laugh. I will miss him, but God has another angel,” Nisa, from Oklahoma City, said.
“What an inspiration to put others first and live your life right. Just watching him on TV his laughter was contagious,” Shantel wrote on the Rant Facebook page.
“BBJ was a true professional and was one of those people that you couldn’t help but like. You wanted to listen to his sports reports because you knew he put his heart in his job, made it fun,” Ford, from Stillwater, said.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26 at 11 a.m. inside Crossings Community Church.
While we have too many memories to share about our time with Bobby, we know we are not the only ones.
If you would like to share any memories about BBJ, you are welcome to sign our guestbook.
