Lizzie Velasquez has been called many names in her 27 years on this earth.
She has seen worldwide cyber bullying that most of us could never imagine.
She was even once deemed the “ugliest woman in the world” in a YouTube video at the young age of 17.
Her frail appearance has given Velasquez a positive platform to protest bullying through national speaking engagements, a TV movie, and as an author – yet, the mocking continues.
The latest attack on her appearance comes in the form of a meme, which Velasquez recently stumbled upon herself.

Velasquez suffers from two conditions, one which makes her unable to gain fat, keeping her adult weight around 64 pounds.
She also suffers from another inherited condition called Marfan syndrome, which causes heart problems and limbs, fingers, and toes to grow longer.
Velasquez is also blind in one eye, but you don’t need perfect eyesight for her vision on social media compassion.
She is now asking that people stop sharing, liking, and commenting on memes that feature “innocent people.”
Velasquez posted this response on Instagram to the hurtful meme:
“I’ve seen a ton of memes like this all over Facebook recently. I’m writing this post not as someone who is a victim but as someone who is using their voice. Yes, it’s very late at night as I type this but I do so as a reminder that the innocent people that are being put in these memes are probably up just as late scrolling through Facebook and feeling something that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. No matter what we look like or what size we are, at the end of the day we are all human. I ask that you keep that in mind the next time you see a viral meme of a random stranger. At the time you might find it hilarious but the human in the photo is probably feeling the exact opposite. Spread love not hurtful words via a screen. Xoxo Lizzie”
And her request has gone viral.
Velasquez has seen a tidal wave of support, with thousands of comments praising her words, and demanding a stop to online hate.
“Today has been awesome! I cannot tell you loved I feel,” Velazquez shares in the update she posted to Instagram.
