The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has just published a list of the seven weather disasters of 2013 that ended up costing more than $1 billion each.
Two of those weather disasters were in Oklahoma; the tornadoes May 18 to May 22 and the tornadoes May 27 to May 31.
The list of weather disasters includes tornadoes, floods, droughts and heat waves.
Overall, 109 people were killed across the country and the weather events financially drained many of the affected communities.
NOAA said 151 weather/climate disasters have hit the U.S. since 1980 where overall damages/costs reached or exceeded $1 billion (including CPI adjustment to 2013).
The total cost of these 151 events exceeds $1 trillion.
