Thunder fans crying foul, Durant misses game-winning free throw after referee’s ‘interference’

OKLAHOMA CITY – After a devastating loss at home to the Memphis Grizzlies, many Oklahoma City Thunder fans are crying foul.

The Thunder fell behind by as many as 20 points before rallying to get back in the game Tuesday night.

That push led to the first lead of the game early in the fourth quarter.

The teams tied it up by the end of regulation and went into the series’ fourth overtime, which set an NBA Playoffs record for most consecutive overtime games in a series.

With 27 seconds to play, Kevin Durant was fouled and made one of two free throws to cut the Memphis lead to 100-99.

Memphis won Game 5 with that as the final score.

That missed free throw has many Oklahoma City Thunder fans up in arms.

While Durant was at the free throw line, NBA referee Joey Crawford stopped the star from shooting his second free throw.

When he was able to resume his stance, he missed.

Officials say Crawford had to stop the game because of a problem with the scoreboard.

However, many people say Crawford’s actions helped the Grizzlies defense in a turning point in the game.
