OKLAHOMA CITY – While it is expected to be a big day for supporters of Donald Trump, one local artist hopes the candidate’s visit will be the experience of a lifetime for her.

Ashley Getz is an 18-year-old musician from Mustang.

She says this Friday’s performance at the fair is unlike any other.

“The day before, I got a call saying , ‘Hey, you’re performing right before Donald Trump.’ So, I was like, ‘All right.’ You know, I took it,” she said. “You don’t always get a lot of opportunities so once that door opens, you have to run through, you have to take it.”

For this young artist, it’s not about political views but rather about representing her state and showcasing her talents.

“I want to be able to show people this is, this is who I am and this is a great opportunity to be able to do it,” said Getz.

She has been performing locally since she was 7-years-old and is usually able to shake off the nerves, but Friday is a bit different.

“Camera crew people, a huge audience, Donald Trump, just that ‘who’ aspect of it does make me nervous because, you know, people are watching,” she said.
