UPDATE: A man wanted for a series of thefts, an assault that landed one victim in the hospital and escaping a manhunt is now behind bars.
The U.S. Metro Fugitive Task Force confirmed officials arrested Jesse Hisaw now four days later in Oklahoma City.
Authorities said they found him on the 2200 block of N.W. 1st Terr. Monday afternoon near N. Penn. Ave. and W. Reno.
Officials have not released any other information at this time.
OKLAHOMA CITY – A one-man crime spree in the metro takes a violent twist.
A man wanted for a series of thefts who later escaped a manhunt is now wanted for an assault that landed one victim in the hospital.
Police say Jesse Hisaw stole numerous purses from a daycare last week.
Surveillance video showed those crimes.
Hisaw then escaped a manhunt after sheriff’s deputies tried to serve him with felony warrants.
Court records now show Hisaw is also wanted for a violent home invasion.
Police say Hisaw assaulted a worker who lived in the back of a small fence company.
“Basically he beat the guy very badly and left him with significant injuries,” said Oklahoma City police MSgt. Gary Knight.
According to court records, “Hisaw punched the victim… and used rope to bind his hands and feet… then kicked the victim in the ribs… causing a collapsed lung.”
“If they catch him, I hope they shoot him,” said a man who knows Hisaw named Carl.
Carl, the man who lives at Hisaw’s last listed address, says Hisaw dated his daughter and officers have repeatedly come around searching for the Hisaw.
“They’ve been coming here everyday, twice a day, looking for him,” said Carl. “I don’t like it one bit because it brings down trouble on my house.”
DOC records show Hisaw has been committing crimes since 1988, with convictions for burglary, illegal weapons, drugs, thefts and more.
After learning about the violent robbery and assault, Carl hopes Hisaw is found dead or alive.
“If they had to shoot him to get him, it wouldn’t bother me. I wouldn’t shed a tear,” said Carl.
“Somebody on a crime spree like this, we certainly want to get them off the streets as soon as possible,” said Knight.
The suspect remains at large.
Because the suspect has active warrants for his arrest, anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 and not Crimestoppers.
