OKLAHOMA CITY – Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that occurred Wednesday night at an Oklahoma City park.
Officials say the shooting occurred Stratford and N.W. 117th at the Macklanburg Recreation Park.
According to police, a 17-year-old was shot in the stomach by someone in a passing vehicle. The victim was able to get into a car, and was driven to an area hospital.
OCPD Lt. Parton said a woman called a short time later saying her grandson had been shot and was being taken to the hospital.
The woman alleges the two men involved in the shooting know each other because her grandson referred to the shooter as “his homie” when he called for help.
Witnesses say shots came from a dark colored SUV that was seen leaving the shooting.
18-year-old Taizjhan Johnson was arrested for the crime.
He is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
