OKLAHOMA CITY– Customers and store clerks at a local GameStop got quite a scare this week.

From Halo, Lara Croft and Far Cry, video gamers are no stranger to simulated violence.

This week, customers and employees in one local video game store hit the floor, staring down the barrel of a real armed gunman.

The victims were robbed at gunpoint at the store near S.W. 3rd and MacArthur Blvd.

The stickup was all caught on camera.

The two alleged suspects wasted no time storming into the GameStop armed with a gun.

The thieves quickly made off with nearly $10,000 in games and merchandise.

“He had everyone in the store lay on the ground,” said MSgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “There were a number of people in the store at the time.”

The armed thief quickly made his way behind the counter, where he demanded employees empty the register at gunpoint.

At that point, another alleged suspect lurking off camera grabbed thousands of dollars of items off the shelves.

“The second suspect was carrying a bag. He began stuffing games, systems and tablets into the bag,” said Knight.

The entire crime lasted just over one minute before the suspects ran away with their loot.

Although the armed duo wore masks, they did make one mistake on their way out of the store.

“Although their faces are covered, as they’re leaving, they began to lift their masks. You don’t get a full look, you get a partial look. We’re hopeful that somebody will recognize them,” said Knight.

The good news is the suspects left the store without hurting anyone inside the business.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact Crimestoppers at (405) 235-7300.
