Several Oklahoma City police officers receive promotions

OKLAHOMA CITY – The day after several crucial elections across the state, a handful of Oklahoma City police officers are being honored.

The Oklahoma City Police Department announced that it is promoting four officers of varying ranks.

Authorities say Capt. Wade Gourley, who is currently the tact team commander, was promoted to the rank of major.

Capt. Dexter Nelson, who is currently the public information officer for the department, was promoted to the rank of major.

Lt. Ryan Boxwell, who is currently the sex offender registrations supervisor, was promoted to the rank of captain.

Lt. Sharon Oster, who is currently an internal affairs supervisor, was promoted to the rank of captain.
