Police searching for man in connection to deadly shooting in Luther

LUTHER, Okla. – Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Luther.

Authorities say they were called to reports of a disturbance on Sorghum Mill Rd. near Luther Rd. around 4 a.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Tyler Muck dead from an apparent gun shot wound.

Witnesses at the scene told police that Muck was arguing with his wife, which then turned into a physical altercation.

That is when authorities say Muck’s wife and two other males asked him to leave the home.

Instead of leaving, Muck allegedly raised a weapon and pointed it at 25-year-old William Haywood, Jr., an arrest warrant states.

Haywood then allegedly pulled out his own gun and shot Muck.

Witnesses say after the shooting, Haywood took off in the victim’s wife’s car.

The car was later found, but officials are still searching for the man accused of taking the vehicle.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Haywood.

Police say Haywood’s arrest warrant is not for murder.  At this time, he is wanted for possession of a firearm after a felony and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Officials would like to interview Haywood about the incident.
