EDMOND, Okla. – One man in critical condition following an officer involved shooting.
Authorities responded to a domestic call around 5am this morning when a woman reported that her boyfriend had a gun in the house.
Police were able to get her and a young child out safely and formed a perimeter around the house. They then attempted to coax the man out of the house. That is when police say he exited with a gun pointed to his head. He was ordered to put the gun down and instead pointed it at the officers who then opened fire.
SWAT trained officers on the scene were able to stabilize the man before he was transported to OU Medical Center.
An investigation is now underway. No names have been released at this time.
