DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — A Virginia mother discovered naked pictures on her 13-year-old daughters cell phone and tablet and turned her in to sheriff’s deputies.
WTVR reports the parents discovered their daughter had been sending and receiving naked pictures of other teens using her tablet.
The parents said that they called in the sheriff’s office to protect their daughter even though she could face criminal charges. They did not want someone to see the pictures and try to find their daughter.
The parents say they became suspicious when they heard other child voices in her bedroom around 4 a.m, and they confiscated the devices.
“Looking through the phone and the tablet we did find, sexual pictures, conversations, that were very inappropriate for her age,” she said.
The mom says the nude pics were being sent back and forth with other boys, some of them 17 or 18 years old.
Investigators say the 13-year-old may face other options outside of the court system.
However, the older teens could face felony charges depending on their ages.
