OKLAHOMA CITY – The students at The Academy South School received a big honor today.

More than 80 percent of the students there completed this year’s kids Memorial Marathon.

Kids marathon director Kelly Burleson and NewsChannel 4’s In Your Corner reporter Scott Hines presented the school with a trophy and a big check for $500.

Mark Robinson, the school’s PE teacher, said many families have made running the Memorial Marathon an annual tradition.

The kids get involved by running 25 miles over the course of several months leading up the memorial marathon.

This is the Academy’s second year in a row to claim the top prize.
