OKLAHOMA CITY –  Police say an argument over a bicycle led to a man getting beaten with a hammer.

Police say David Phillips, 40, claimed that Jason Green, 31,  stole his bicycle.

Phillips said Green had his bicycle in the Sierra Crossings apartment courtyard on N. Gardner Ave.

Officers say Phillips asked for his bike back and Green gave it to him.

However, when Green was handing over the bike, he took out a hammer and threatened to hit Phillips.

Phillips says he ran back to his apartment and closed the door.

Officers say the suspect started pounding on Phillips’ apartment door, and forced his way inside his apartment.

According to the police report, Green struck Phillips several times with a hammer.

Officers arrested Green and booked him into the Oklahoma County Jail.
