UPDATE: Investigators say they have identified and arrested a man who allegedly carjacked a victim at a business parking lot earlier this year.
Authorities say they arrested 20-year-old Toney Conway, who they called the “binky bandit.”
He is now facing robbery charges.
OKLAHOMA CITY – An armed carjacker is caught on camera with a pacifier in his mouth.
Police released surveillance pictures of a man they dubbed the “binky bandit.”
The suspect allegedly robbed and carjacked a victim in front of a business parking lot along north Western.
“The unusual part about this case, as you can see from the photos, the suspect has a pacifier in his mouth while committing this crime,” said Oklahoma City police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.
The victim cooperated with the pacifier sucking suspect by handing over his money and his car keys.
That allowed the suspect to speed away.
When our crews came to the street where the victim lives, we discovered a blood trail in the driveway of the victim’s home.
The blood drops start two doors away.
That’s where neighbors say a car slammed into a vacant home Sunday night.
“It was real fast.. It came in and Pow!” said neighbor Marvin Hutcherson.
Marvin says after destroying the side of the home, the driver sped away, but two other bloody men casually wandered down the street.
“They didn’t ask for nothing. They got out and took off and went up the street like it wasn’t nothing going on,” said Hutcherson.
It’s not clear how or if the robbery is connected to the accident, but the alleged victim Antonio Hilbert, does have a lengthy criminal past.
Court records show Hilbert has faced drug and weapons charges, as well as charges of assault and concealing stolen property.
Still, police say their focus is finding the very distinctive armed carjacker.
“Our victim was not injured but obviously this man robs another individual, it could have another outcome,” said Wardlow. “We want to get this man off the streets.”
