OKLAHOMA CITY – It’s been more than two and a half years since 16-year-old Anne Hill seemingly vanished.
No one had any idea what happened to the Casady student until Chloe Thomas came forward to police in October of 2014 to confess to her involvement in the crime.
She initially said she just helped dispose of Hill’s body and implicated another suspect, Chadd Raymond.
Thomas was initially charged with accessory to murder, but that was changed to murder after Raymond gave his statement to police.
In the first full day of testimony in Thomas’ trial, an Oklahoma City homicide detective said Raymond told them he choked Hill first but Thomas finished it.
They both admitted to dumping Hill’s body in rural McClain County.
Hill’s remains were discovered about a year after she went missing.
Raymond accepted a plea deal with the state in exchange for his testimony against Thomas.
He has not yet testified, but Hill’s mother, Lori Hill, took the stand Tuesday morning, saying she held out hope until the very end that her daughter would be found alive.
“I want my daughter back even now,” she said.
The homicide detective said they interviewed many people but always went back to Thomas and Raymond, because they were the last people known to see her.
He testified Thomas did not like Hill because Hill liked her boyfriend.
Several of Hill’s friends also testified in court on Tuesday, and prosecutors attempted to establish a timeline for Hill’s last day alive.
Prosecutors also told the jury they would be seeing the videotaped police interviewed with both Thomas and Raymond.
