OKLAHOMA – Police are looking for answers in the death of two women.
They were found shot in a car in the small community of Bache, Oklahoma near McAlester.
“We just want to know who did this. It’s been over a month without any arrests being made. I’m sick just thinking about it,” said Kim Morgan.
With each passing day, Kim said life without her daughter gets harder.
“I don’t know how we get through sometimes – just one breath at a time,” she said.
Even that can be a struggle when there is no closure.
That’s what the mother desperately wants.
Her daughter, 23-year-old Emily Morgan, and Emily’s best friend, 24-year-old Totinika Elix, drove from Oklahoma City to McAlester one night in August.
“For some reason, she felt she needed to go that night,” Kim said.
Emily and Totinika were found shot to death the next day in Emily’s car.
The car was found in Bache in the carport of a vacant home.
The owners noticed the car and called police.
Kim got devastating news later that night.
“Most of the time, it just doesn’t feel real. Who could have made the decision to do this?” she said.
Right now, that is still a mystery, but investigators said they’re getting closer to an arrest.
“The case agent working on this has been working almost exclusively on this, even though he has 16 other cases. This case is so active he feels a responsibility to continue to run the leads as they come up,” said Jessica Brown, OSBI.
Until then, Kim doesn’t want the two mothers to be forgotten.
She keeps Emily’s memory alive for her 7-year-old son.
