OKLAHOMA – KFOR’s Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan and his wife, Marla, marked a very special event recently.

Their twins, Tanner and Montana, celebrated their 18th birthday.

Even though they’re twins, they are as different as night and day.

Montana is blonde and petite, and Tanner is husky and dark-headed.

In fact, some of their friends didn’t even realize they were twins.

“We had a friend our freshman year that didn’t believe we were twins until second semester,” Montana said.

“There are people that are still finding out, people we’ve known for four years,” Tanner said. “They say, ‘Wait a minute, you all are twins?’ They think we are joking.”

Montana has a serious artistic side.

“At first, I just liked to draw,” she said.  “Then, I had to be put into a painting class, and I thought I would hate it, but I actually loved painting. And, then, I’ve just been in different mediums and stuff and, now, I’ve been in A.P. studio for the past two years.”

Speaking of artistic, twin brother Tanner has become an accomplished musician on the tenor tuba.

By sheer determination and innate ability, Tanner has found his passion in music.

“Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice,” he said. “I started doing honor bands and stuff like that. I’ve been in Edmond Memorial’s Wood Ensemble for four years now, varsity jazz band for three years.”

In fact, Tanner has become so good, he earned himself a scholarship to Oklahoma City University –  a premier performing arts school.

Montana plans on going to OSU next year.

Growing up, the children of a famous meteorologist, the Morgan twins have gotten used to questions from their friends about the weather.

And, there’s one question they get a lot in the halls of their high school.

“Well, you get asked when the first snow day is,” Tanner said.

“Yeah,” Montana laughed. “We get that a lot.”
