CLAYTON, Okla. – One Oklahoma town is gaining a lot of attention for the summer weather it has recorded.
Officials say the town of Clayton had the wettest Mesonet site in Oklahoma in July.
It registered 11.3 inches of rain in its rain gauge.
Three Oklahoma City Mesonet stations recorded at least nine inches of rain in July.
Overall, it was the 15th wettest July on record and the third coolest.
The U.S. Drought Monitor is looking much better these days.
Experts say only the far southwest corner of the state is still in an exceptional drought.
