BRISTOW, Okla. – Authorities have made two arrests in connection to the theft of $75,000 from a Bristow Walmart.
Over the weekend, a man walked into a Walmart, claiming to be an armored truck driver and convinced store employees to give him $75,000.
The man pretended to be a Loomis employee there to collect the store’s bank deposit.
Police say the Walmart employees believed the man because he was apparently dressed as an armored truck driver.
He did not use a weapon or threaten the employees.
Police said the real Loomis truck came to make a scheduled pick up about 30 minutes later, and that’s when employees realized their error.
Since the theft, police have arrested the store manager, Rico Robertson, in connection to the crime.
Although Robertson was not the person who handed the alleged thief the money, police do believe he was involved.
Agents also determined that Robertson’s wife, Monica, was told about the robbery before they went through with it, and she allegedly helped destroy evidence after the fact.
They also arrested Robertson’s stepdaughter, Mariah Bustamonte. She allegedly drove the thief to and from the store as the getaway car in the robbery, according to police.
Police have identified the alleged thief as 22-year-old Bryan Jervante Johnson.
Johnson is also wanted in California for several robberies and a shooting, police say.
Robertson and Bustamonte were booked into the Creek County Jail for conspiracy to commit a felony and grand larceny. Bryan Johnson and Monica Robertson each face one count of conspiracy to commit a felony.
Police say Johnson and the money he allegedly stole are still missing.
