OKLAHOMA CITY – A man with known gang affiliation has been arrested for leading police on a high-speed chase with his 4-year-old child in the vehicle.
Police say they tried to stop a man driving a stolen Mustang near N.W. 80th and Harvey, but the driver took off.
After blowing through several stop signs — the man crashed into another vehicle.
The suspect, Shavis Barnes, attempted to run, but police were able to tackle him to the ground and handcuff him.
Officers say 26-year-old Barnes was intoxicated and left his 4-year-old son in the back seat of the car when he tried to make his getaway.
Barnes faces multiple charges, including DUI, eluding police, and child endangerment.
