OKLAHOMA CITY — A 13-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after police responded to an abused or abandoned child call at the 200 block of N. Miramar Blvd. Monday.
Police arrived around 2:30 p.m.
The 13-year-old victim told police she got into a fight while she was at her step-sister’s boyfriend’s house. The victim says her step-sister was angry at one of her friends, so she took it out on the victim.
Reports say the step-sister charged the victim, punching her legs and slapping her in the face. The victim says she didn’t fight back.
After seeing serious bruising on the victim’s legs, police say the victim’s mother asked how a child could make marks like that, and yelled for the 13-year-old to tell the truth about how her injuries came about.
That’s when the victim’s younger sister asked why she had been crying and screaming in her room.
The bruised girl got more upset, saying that her dad did not hit her.
But when police talked to the girl alone, she admitted that a male suspect “whooped” her with a belt around midnight the night before. The girl said she didn’t know why the man was beating her, and when he was done, he apologized and told her she didn’t deserve it.
The victim was transported to the hospital to ensure there were no further injuries.
Aaron Wayne Finley, 35, was arrested for child abuse.
