OKLAHOMA CITY — A mother duck threw herself into traffic Tuesday morning near N.W. 178th St. and Western Ave.
Witnesses believe the mama mallard was distraught after her seven ducklings fell into a storm drain.
Brothers, Aaron and John Butler, spent most of the morning trying to help the ducklings out.
Eventually, Oklahoma City street crews responded to remove the storm drain.
John Butler said, “This is a daily problem. Ducks are always waddling in the roadway. Except they’ve never fallen in before.”
The Butler brothers safely netted all seven ducklings.
They are currently working to relocate the duck family.
