NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — Residents of a Norman neighborhood have reported dozens of missing FedEx packages to police.
In each case, they received an alert that the package had been delivered, which wasn’t the case.
“We placed an order through FedEx several weeks ago,” Shannon Kunkel told KFOR.
Since then, she and her husband, Bryce, have been experiencing a delivery nightmare.
“It’s marked delivered. It said dropped off at front porch,” Shannon said.
However, the package wasn’t there so they decided to check their surveillance cameras.
“There was no FedEx truck at all. We didn’t see a FedEx truck on the street, nothing like that,” Kunkel said.
They contacted FedEx, who told them to contact the seller. So they did and the second time around, the same thing happened.
When they mentioned the issue on the Nextdoor app, the two realized they weren’t alone.
“We saw about 10-12 posts, people again had gotten their packages reordered and still they were never delivered,” she said.
One woman wrote, “We too have been victimized. Our problem is that we run a small business out of our home and all of our boxes were items that were SOLD sweatshirts!!! There were four huge boxes worth hundreds.”
Bryce Kunkel decided to flag down a FedEx driver the next day.
“He said he normally doesn’t run this route through this neighborhood but that he had heard about this situation. That the driver who was in this area had been flagged for like 30-40 different incidents, reported lost packages, stuff like that,” he said.
Not hearing much from FedEx corporate, the Kunkels decided to file a report with the Norman Police Department.
“I think we’re more upset that there are so many people being affected and that so little seems to be done about it,” Shannon said.
KFOR contacted FedEx and received the following statement:
“FedEx Ground contracts for and expects the highest levels of conduct from service providers and their employees. We are reviewing this incident and will take the appropriate steps to address this matter.”
