OKLAHOMA CITY – A family impacted by last year’s tornadoes was chosen for a new home through annual Lose to Serve Weight Loss Contest.

Karissa Smith never dreamed that when her home church, Shartel Church of God, entered the Lose to Serve Contest, that she would win the ability to purchase a new home from Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity.

The dream comes true today when the organizers, including 4Corners Homes, come together to start the framing of Smith’s new home.

Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity is working to help families impacted by the May tornadoes.

Funding and property is still available to those affected.
