The Holiday Season is quickly approaching! This recipe can be made well in advance, takes only minutes and will have your guests – including those who claim to “not like Cranberry Sauce,” – begging for more! Outstanding as the traditional compliment to Roasted Turkey, it also is amazing over Vanilla Ice Cream or Whipped Cream – especially when paired with some Apple Pie! Feel free to make 2 weeks in advance, but hide it or prepare to make more!
The World’s Best (and easiest) Cranberry Sauce Recipe
- 1 C Sugar (use 1.5 cups if you prefer a really sweet sauce)
- 1 C Orange Juice (I prefer fresh squeezed or not from concentrate)
- 1-2 T grated Orange Zest (optional)
- 1 t Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 t Ground Clove
- 12 oz Fresh or Frozen Cranberries
In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, orange juice, spices and optional orange zest. Stir to combine; bring to boil. Add cranberries, return to boil. Reduce heat to slow boil/heavy simmer and cook 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Place in sealed, covered container and refrigerate up to 3 weeks. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
