OKLAHOMA CITY – Rosemary got her new porch roof and new friends out of the deal.
Devin Cline wanted to spread some holiday cheer.
He saw one of Scott Hines’ Facebook posts about Rosemary and convinced his boss from Rose Hill Builders to bless the 83-year-old with repairs.
Devin and his crew had to tear down the original mess left behind by another contractor.
You’ll remember, there were problems and leaks all over.
When that contractor never showed back up to fix his shoddy work, Devin poured himself into making this project happen.
ABC Supply donated the gutter material and David Corona from Gideon Steel Panel Company pitched in material for the metal roof.
“The good Lord has blessed our company in a way where we can be generous without having to think about it,” David said.
Rosemary’s granddaughter, Felicia Garnand, struggled to hold back the tears.
She said, “We don’t have to worry about her coming out here and slipping and falling because of water leaking on the porch now.”
Some of Rosemary’s most precious moments have been on her front porch, drinking a cup of coffee, sharing some of her deepest conversations with her late husband, and watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and now great-great-grandchildren, scoot around and play.
She added, “Come back this summer [and] we’ll have about 20 kids out here on this porch.”
Thanks to Devin and the other human angels who pitched into help, Rosemary’s got her porch back to create more memories.

Oklahoma widow, Rosemary, is grieving the loss of her husband.
While she was caring for her dying husband inside their home, handyman Mark Nelson was putting up a shoddy roof over their front porch.
Rosemary’s granddaughter, Felicia, says her granny found handyman Mark Nelson of Okie Building Concepts in the classified ads.
“He told her he would be back out around Mother’s Day weekend to repair it,” Felicia said. “He never showed up.”
There are problems all over.
No sign of the handyman.
He did purchase supplies with some of Rosemary’s money.
Felicia added, “But it’s not $1750 worth of work.”
We spent several days trying to get a hold of Mark Nelson, sent him text messages and called and left voicemails.
As of now there is no refund for Rosemary, but we’ve got help on the way and a second local contractor ready and willing to be of service.
