“I was with him alone in his room, less than 24 hours after he shot his family”

NORMAN, Okla.-According to police, just moments, after killing his family, Alan Hruby headed to Dallas to spend the weekend with friends.

He even posted a picture on his Instagram account of his OU roommate, hanging at his hotel room he’d booked at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Dallas.

Alan’s college roommate says he is stunned Alan is accused of murdering his family.

Andrew Bormann says he saw Alan hours after he allegedly shot his mom, dad and sister.

“He left his OU ticket so he asked me to bring it down, so I brought it down, I took it to the Ritz,” Bormann says.

They met up at the lavish Dallas Ritz hotel.

“We stayed over, talked, just kind of hung out,” Bormann remembers.

Bormann says they never actually made it to the game, but says everything seemed normal.

“There was nothing I could detect that was wrong with him, which is one of the weirdest things and everybody else who had seen him and talked to him said there was nothing wrong, there were no red flags,” Bormann says.

Court documents show Hruby told police he killed his family then went to Dallas.

“That’s one of the scariest things is that I was with him alone in his room, less than 24 hours after he shot his family and that I could tell nothing was wrong, that he was completely normal is also terrifying,” Bormann said.

Terryfying for him to think he was so close with a man who says he murdered his family.

“He was fun to be around , he was always laughing and joking ,” Bormann said.

We asked Bormann if he knew of any Hruby family problems.

“He did say he’d spent close to $20,000 the month before, like the month coming to school and that his parents were kind of upset about that, obviously,” Bormann says.

Alan’s roommate remembers Alan as a caring brother.

“His sister got in a car wreck towards the beginning of the semester and when he found out, he started crying and I was with him 2 weeks ago and he called to wish her good luck on a volleyball tournament,” Bormann remembers.

A picture perfect family. Mom, dad and a little sister dead. The older brother charged with their murders.

“Honestly it’s almost like a movie, you hear about these things and you’re like now, that doesn’t happen and here it is,” Bormann said.

Andrew Bormann says Alan had told him he had gone to shopper’s anonymous to help deal with a possible shopping addiction.

Bormann says he’s still in shock and just praying for the man he used to call friend.
