“He would’ve killed me. I could see it in his eyes,” Victims speak out after a string of armed robberies

OKLAHOMA CITY – A string of armed robberies took police all over the metro late Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

Eventually, police arrested the suspects at the CVS located on S.W. 44th and Western Ave.

Some of the victims talked about their horrifying experience, thankful they are here today.

“He would’ve killed me. I could see it in his eyes,” said Tiffaney Smith.

Smith is one of the victims in the eight robberies police said 22-year-old Jacob Graham and 21-year-old Jacob Underwood pulled off overnight.

“They would go in, hold the store clerk at gun point or at least point a gun at the store clerk, demand cash. At that point, they would leave and simply move on to the next store,” said MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Their targets spread across the metro and the crime spree started around 8 p.m. Monday, ending around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

“I don’t feel safe no more,” said Smith.

Smith was working at the Petro Truck Stop near MLK and Reno, when one of the suspects showed her his gun and demanded all of the cash in the drawer.

She’s traumatized by her experience, but she isn’t alone.

April Tyler was working at CVS near S.W. 44th & Western, when she said a man walked in to buy chips and candy.

She was ringing him up when he pulled out a pistol, demanding her to hand over all of the cash.

Tyler said she was scared for her life.

“It definitely makes you put a lot of things in perspective. The first thing I did when I got home was hug my kids,” said Tyler.

Both of these moms are thankful the suspects are in police custody but now are left living in fear.

“What if it happens again, and the next time we’re not so fortunate?” said Tyler.

“I got to go back to work. You know, my kids don’t quit growing,” said Smith.

According to the police reports, Graham was the gunman in the robberies and Underwood drove the getaway vehicle from one store to the next.

In all of the robberies, the good news is no injuries were reported, but there are still a lot of scared victims.
