PRATTVILLE, Ala. – A police department in Alabama recently got a little bit of help from man’s best friend.
On Oct. 28, officers say they were trying to search a suspected meth lab.
Officers with the Prattville Drug Enforcement Unit spotted Edward Melvin Henderson running from the home.
Henderson jumped into a ravine and started running through a field.
At that point, police noticed they had a helper nearby.
Bo, Henderson’s Pit Bull and Husky mix, was walking next to officers as his owner fled from the home.
According to the police department, an investigator pointed at Henderson and told Bo to, ‘Go, get him!’
Without hesitation, they say Bo jumped into the ravine and led officers to a wooded area.
Eventually, police lost sight of the dog and Henderson.
However, they soon saw Bo wagging his tail and standing in an area of tall grass.
When they got to the dog, they found Henderson trying to hide.
Henderson was arrested for failure to obey police, two counts of unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
As for Bo, officers say family members are taking care of the dog ,saying he is well-loved and will not be harmed.
