OKC police officer accused of pawning police equipment

OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma City Police officer is being accused of Making a False Declaration to a Pawn Broker.

The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office filed 10 counts of the charge against 14-year veteran of the Oklahoma City Police Department, Sgt. Travis Smith on Friday.

Smith was placed on paid administrative leave in November of 2014 when the department started a criminal investigation.

The criminal investigation is now complete, but Smith will continue to be on paid administrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation.
