MARLOW, Okla. – In a heartbreaking story of abuse, authorities say a two month old baby boy is suffering 14 broken bones at the hands of his own father. X-ray photos show broken bones the baby is suffering.
“The child had a new fracture about every two to three days of its life,” Stephens County District Attorney Jason Hicks said.
All the fractures are in different stages of healing. Some of them in the later healing process. Others are fresh breaks.
“We came to realize that there are approximately 14 fractured bones in this babies body,” Hicks said.
Investigators believe they were all caused by the baby’s father, 31 year old Christopher Easley.
“Those fractures were not consistent at all with what Easley was telling law enforcement.”
Easley told officers the infant “hurt his arm by rolling over and pinning his own arm behind his back.”
The baby’s mother also told police Easley “used a closed fist to push on (the baby’s) stomach and ribs, because the baby was constipated.”
“He had taken his fist and stuck his fist on the child’s sternum and pushed down to try to cause the child to use the bathroom,” Hicks said.
Police say Easley finally cofessed “that he was the cause of the broken bones on his son” and that he grabbed the baby “by his lower left arm” and “heard it make a popping sound.”
“I will do everything that I can to make sure that Easley receives the maximum penalty of life in prison.”
Easley was charged with felony child abuse.
