Family of missing Shawnee woman desperate for answers

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The family of a missing Shawnee woman says they are desperate for answers.

It’s been 2 years this month since their loved one went missing.

Samantha Weaver, 27, was last seen June 15, 2012.

She is a mother of 2 young girls.

Her sister and brother tell NewsChannel 4 that Weaver would never leave her family behind.

They say at the time of her disappearance, she was staying with a man who is now in prison for nearly killing another woman last year.

They believe he holds a lot of the answers, but they’re also convinced someone else out there has information.

They say they’re holding onto the shred of hope that Weaver is still alive.

“I have to hold onto that hope because I would lose my mind. Reality tells me that she’s not because she wouldn’t be away from us this long. But there’s also that little tiny bit of hope that you have to hold onto that says you know she could still be out there somewhere,” said Weaver’s sister, Cristy Busch.

The Shawnee Police Department and Pottawatomie County DA’s officer are both actively investigating the case.
