OWASSO, Okla. – The report just released on the Owasso plane crash that killed Sen. Jim Inhofe’s son states engine failure is to blame.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed the death of U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe’s son, 52-year-old Dr. Perry Inhofe, who was killed in a weekend plane crash in northeast Oklahoma Nov. 10.
Officials said the orthopedic surgeon was piloting the aircraft which crashed near 98th St. North and Memorial Dr.
He was married and lived in the Tulsa area.
Perry Inhofe worked at Central States Orthopedics in Tulsa.
He was one of four children of Oklahoma’s senior U.S. Sen. James Inhofe.
He went to medical school at Washington University in St. Louis and completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University.
The Mitsubishi MU-2B-25 plane he was flying was headed to Tulsa International Airport.
It crashed shortly before 4 p.m. just north of the airport.
The plane had taken off from an airport in Salina, Kansas.
Witnesses said it started to twist and turn in the air before spiraling down and crashing in a wooded area.
A spokesperson with the Tulsa International Airport said the pilot alerted air traffic control of a mechanical problem.
She said the pilot reported that he needed to land immediately.
