Cox customers fuming after ‘blackout’ during Thunder game, video equipment to blame

OKLAHOMA CITY – As many eyes in Oklahoma City were glued to television sets to watch the Thunder take on the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 5, a lot of fans were treated to an unexpected sight.

During Tuesday night’s game, cable subscribers of Cox Communications said their lifeline to the game was cut when their was a disruption with service.

Cable was disrupted for about 30 minutes but was restored before the game ended.

On the company’s Facebook page, workers have been responding to customer complaints by saying, “The issue was resolved prior to the end of the game. We sincerely apologize about the interruption.”

NewsChannel 4 has attempted to contact Cox Communications about the outage on Tuesday night.

Christine Martin, the director of communications, says a piece of video equipment went down, which is responsible for the outage.
