Cowboys upset with PRCA rule change for calf roping

Many Oklahomans enjoy rodeo roping events, but the rules are going to change.

According to the Calgary Sun, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association voted to adopt a stricter interpretation of the jerk-down rule in the calf roping event.

Under the new rule, cowboys will be flagged out and given a no-time if a calf is jerked off of all four feet and its body touches the ground before the roper reaches it.

The new rule also says that only clean head catches will be permitted.

If a cowboy does not perform a clean catch, they will be immediately disqualified.

Many cowboys are not happy about the change.
