EL RENO – The Canadian Valley Technology Center between El Reno and Yukon will be temporarily moving to the former John Holt Chevrolet auto dealership building at the west side of Yukon, Dr. Greg Winters of CV Tech indicated Wednesday evening.

The Center has 19 individual technical and vocational programs and was looking for large enough areas to relocate its programs as it rebuilds portions of its heavily-damaged campus from the May 31 tornado.

Except for the child care and nursing programs, Dr. Winters believes all of the existing programs, CV Tech staff and students will be able to fit in and use the 93,000 square-foot building. It will “take a lot of elbow grease” to make the building ready, he says, and it also appears the the Center’s insurance authorities don’t think the entire existing campus will need to be demolished before rebuilding begins.
