EL RENO, Okla. – According to the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, an El Reno man was busted on child pornography charges.
Authorities say deputies with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office executed an early morning search warrant at a residence in El Reno on Thursday.
The warrant was executed along with members of the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after information was gathered indicating child pornography had been downloaded at the residence.
Once inside, Christopher Sexton, 30, was arrested by deputies after an onsite forensic examination of electronics was conducted.
During the examination, it was determined Sexton was in possession of over 100 images of children being sexually molested by adult males and females.
Authorities say Sexton admitted to investigators he was the person who had searched online, downloaded, and saved the child pornography.
Sexton was one of six adults located in the residence, where four children were residing as well.
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services was contacted and is providing services to the family.
“This is the second case in as many weeks where an arrest was made in connection with child pornography being downloaded in a home where children are residing. I can only pray that these little ones haven’t been molested,” said Randall Edwards, Canadian County Sheriff.
During the search of the residence, Sheriff’s Deputies also located a twenty two caliber handgun, approximately five grams of marijuana, and a set of scales.
Sexton admitted to the authorities everything belonged to him.
Sexton, who is a convicted felon with a history of assault and battery on a police officer, was booked into the Canadian County Jail on charges of Aggravated Possession of Child Pornography, Possession of Marijuana in the Presence of a Child, and for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Sexton was also charged with committing a Violation of the Computer Crimes Act.
His bond was set at $140,000 and he remains in custody.
“I’ll continue to search out and remove these predators from society using every resource that’s available to me and my deputies,” said Edwards.
The Canadian County Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit continues to operate under the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s ICAC Task Force, and is assisted with polygraph examinations by the United States Secret Service.
