Update: 52 people taken to hospital for storm-related injuries

OKLAHOMA CITY – As severe weather made its way though Oklahoma, several tornadoes touched down, leaving damage and massive flooding in their wake.

EMSA officials took 52 patients to nearby hospitals for treatment for various injuries. Most of the injuries stemmed from falls and car accidents.

An RV park near S.E. 48th and I-35 was destroyed by the storms.

In all, 13 patients were from the RV park, two of those were in critical condition.

Crews at the scene told KFOR that 27 people did make it to a nearby shelter before the tornado hit the area.

Officials estimate at least 80 percent of the neighborhood was damaged.

On Wednesday, firefighters responded to 150 high-water assistance calls.

Tragically, one person drowned after becoming trapped in a storm shelter.

Will Rogers World Airport received a bit of damage to the terminal building, resulting in 12 leaks in the baggage claim  and pedestrian tunnel.

The general aviation terminal also sustained flood damage.
