OKLAHOMA CITY – After several severe storms moved through the state on Wednesday, many residents are trying to pick up the pieces.
People needing help with debris removal, minor repairs and minor tarp placement can ask Serve Moore for help.
The group is also seeking volunteers.
Information and social services are available by calling 211. The Salvation Army and United Way of Central Oklahoma are among the groups providing services and aid to storm victims.
For families who are completely displaced because of the storms, the American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma is operating a shelter at Santa Maria Virgen Episcopal Church.
The church, located near 5500 S. Western Ave., is providing shelter and services to people affected by Wednesday’s storms.
Last night, officials say about 50 people stayed at the shelter.
A second shelter is open at Heritage Family Baptist Church, located at 600 N. Mustang Rd., in Tuttle.
The Salvation Army says a mobile feeding unit is in southeast Oklahoma City, near S.E. 55th St. and I-35 to help first responders and those affected by the storm.
Also, Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief has chainsaw teams working in Bridge Creek. You can ask for assistance by calling (405) 443-7583 or visit the group’s website.
The Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division is also operating a shelter for pets at the Red Cross shelter.
Services including veterinary care are also available.
