NEW YORK (PIX11) — The nation continues to mourn the loss of two NYPD police officers who were shot to death.

Now, the world is learning about Jaden Ramos, the 13-year-old son of slain NYPD officer Rafael Ramos, who posted a heartbreaking goodbye message to his father on Facebook, according to PIX11.

Ramos, 40, and Wenjian Liu, 32, were sitting in their patrol car in Brooklyn Saturday when — without warning — the gunman shot them in the head.

PIX 11 reports Jaden, posted these heartbreaking messages on Facebook.

Just two weeks ago, Jaden posted a special birthday message to his father on Facebook:

Police said the shooter was 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley.

He allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend in Baltimore  hours before he killed Liu and Ramos.

The 29-year-old woman was shot in the stomach but survived.

Police say Brinsley posted on social media that included threats to kill police officers.

The officers’ killings come after months of protests over the deaths of unarmed black men at the hands of police officers.
