Henry Winkler spoke to the Boys and Girls Club about the power of reading.
Winkler is visiting the metro area to help promote his latest book, “Here’s Hank: You Can’t Drink a Meatball Through a Straw.”
Written primarily for young people struggling with dyslexia, with a font helps make reading easier for those with the struggle. He co-wrote the book with his frequent collaborator Lin Oliver. The duo has written over 30 books together.
Known famously as “Fonzie” on the television show “Happy Days,” Winkler was 31 years old before he realized he had a learning disability.
Growing up he struggled in school – now he’s hoping to empower young kids by letting them know they have a special ability inside them.
Winkler makes it his mission to be a positive voice for children who may have similar struggles.

A book that relates to all kids, but especially speaks to those who might struggle as Winkler did.
It even uses a special font that makes it easier to read if you have dyslexia.
Sure it’s been a while since “Happy Days” ruled the TV screen, but I think it’s clear, “The Fonz” is now cooler than ever.
