Austin was born and raised in the state of Oklahoma and is beyond excited to be telling all kinds of stories in the place he knows and loves.
Before joining Oklahoma’s News 4 team Austin worked for KAKE News, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas. He worked as a reporter going live for morning breaking news events to covering crime and different sporting events as a fill-in sports employee.
Austin also contributed to covering community events and even Super Bowl 54 in Miami. He was a part of their four-person team in Miami covering the Chief’s first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years. He put together multiple stories on Chiefs players and Super Bowl events with several Chiefs fans in attendance.
He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Media in Mass Communications. Austin grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma where he participated in athletics and found his love for news and sports media on TV and radio.
He says without UCentral News and the help of his great professors at his alma mater, he doesn’t think he would be anywhere near where he is today.
When he isn’t working Austin enjoys exercising, playing video games, and watching and keeping up with any kind of sports. He says he can’t even put into words how great it is to be home and he can’t wait to continue telling stories to Oklahoman’s for many years to come.
Feel free to say hi if you see him around town!”
