OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – A female suspect involved in a brawl at John Marshall High School allegedly attacked an Oklahoma City police officer as the officer tried to stop the altercation.
“Oklahoma City Public Schools is fully cooperating with law enforcement and the students involved will be disciplined according to our Student of Conduct. We also reserve the right to ban for 6 months any patrons who were involved in fighting and inappropriate behavior,” Oklahoma City police said in a news release.
The disturbance occurred while a basketball game was being held at the school.
The commotion began when an altercation erupted between four females in the hallway near the concession area, according to the news release.
Teachers intervened and officers were called to help stop the fight.
Police at the scene said that officers got control of the situation and started escorting those involved in the disturbance out of the building, but before the officers could get them out of the building, the commotion reignited.
An officer attempted to place an individual under arrest when a friend of the individual became angry and jumped at the officer.
One of the females was pepper-sprayed by a Student Resource Officer, but it only hit her on the back of the head. A medic checked her and determined that she was fine.
Two adults and a 17 year old were arrested for alleged disorderly conduct. The fourth female was released to a parent without citation, according to the news release.
No one was injured, including the officer who was attacked.
